an interesting question

I was surfing around earlier. I saw a profile that said "Looking for a Christian gentleman who loves God more than he loves me." I totally understand what the person was getting at. But I just found it a thought that would be better left unsaid.
Am I out in left field? For someone who is not devout, the answer is a little more obvious. But are you willing to explore the intellectual question at the center for a moment (if you are not devout) and let me know your thoughts?
I'm kind of torn between "I should not even bring it up, let alone post it" and "I really don't know how to feel about it...help me out here".

I watch a lot of Blacklist. I'm not sure if that helps me or hurts me on this one.

What pops into my mind is the question - why is she looking for him on a sex site? Wouldn't church be a better place? or at least a Christian dating site?

I really value your opinions. So let me tell you I didn't see it on this site, but rather a site a little more appropriate to the question. What say you now?

I would say...that is too bizarre for me to contemplate. There is so much religious hypocrisy these days especially among the Christian right who have bought into the demonization of the poor and most definitely do not espouse the tenets of treating others as you would like to be treated i.e. immigrants.

I see Jimmy Carter as a good example of someone practicing Christianity right. But not of the Christian right if you know what I mean.

I'm not a devout person and I find statements like she made a little over the top.
If I were devout, I would phrase it differently. In my opinion, her statement opens her up to manipulation by a religious fanatic. That may be what she's looking for though.

I think your right. She needs to search another website for meetings.

I saw a profile that said "Looking for a Christian gentleman who loves God more than he loves me." ... She's insane/mentally ill. Unfortunately a great deal of the human population may be found to think as she does, so the majority of folks, insane as they may be, would protect her and not institutionalize her.

totally understand what the person was getting at.... You think so? If she actually thinks that way, she's a danger to herself , those near her, and society in general, but nobody will ever do anything about it until the time is too late. She's heard a voice, she's drowned her kids... you know.. the usually bat-shit crazy stuff.

If I met a woman who told me she loves a god more than I...I'd go fuck her girlfriend. I'd tell her , "Your girlfriend reminds me of the goddess Aphrodite , I'm going to go fuck her".

and "I really don't know how to feel about it...help me out here"..... You'll figure it out.

Well put. She'd be a kool aid drinker , for sure.

Religious devotion is what motivates people to say
things happen for a reason. Any faction that shuts out
evolution even in the presence of scientific proof.
Lives in a house on space front property. They're
much better off keeping that to themselves.

Using more than all the road!

if you don't, don't respond - I would assume she is being sincere.
