For twenty plus years I also had a dream job..I worked on a large private Estate, saw more animals than humans and made decent money..My body told me to retire, not my love for the career..

Miss
I been there dont that. It not much of a life. I hated for bedtime to come because i knew i was closer to having to get up and go to that hell hole. I would drive and think no matter what i do today it not gonna be enough and you should have done more. So after health issues i left and what do you know all the helth issues left too. Its called stress!!!! Good luck and hopefully you find a job and people the appreciate you!

I've been hanging on myself until I can move to a position that I would enjoy. I hung on to guarantee some retirement benefits, but now , they're in the book, so I'm trying to move.

It's great when you can effectuate change and be recognized for it... on the other hand, when it's a daily slog, your response is the right one... tough it out and don't let it get the better of you. But damn, why do all good things have to come to and end?

Is it worse than being unemployed? You were really stressed then.
Retirement age looms closer every year … hang tough.

Good Luck you are tough and can make it. Your friends here are supporting you so do not feel bad about sharing your struggle.
I felt that way at the end of my career as they brought in "hot shot managers" from the outside that did not have the knowledge that so many of the ones that had lived there for decades did have.
I retired with "most" of my sanity

YIKES - Sorry babe.

I'm a fairly new reader - why did you leave the other place?

My job is slowly evolving too - and not in a good way. And I have not changed companies, exactly. Mergers and acquisitions mean this is FAR from the same company that I joined 21 years ago. OH WELL - 2 years, 5 months, 3 weeks and 4 days till I'm Medicare eligible!!

Sounds like a new job hunt should be in the works. I've had a few sucky jobs in my life, but am so dang happy where I'm at now. I tell people, and my two sons that I've paid my dues over the many years so feel I deserve to be where I'm at. Hang in there darling, and please do look around for something better.

I have definitely noticed the difference in your post on here since your new job. they have been steadily dropping into a negative mode.
I feel for you. I have had a bad job before. It didn't last long. In the two weeks I worked there I put in less than 25 hours before they finally fired me. what a relief.
Hang in there until something good comes along.

I feel you girl.. It's tough when you are in a job that isn't what you thought it would be. I stuck my last one out until July and then said enough.

I am out looking again as well. Keep your head up.. get that fat bonus and move on..

Hugs to you my friend.

I know exactly what your saying.
I've lost the Love I use to have for the work I do.
People retired & were replaced by idiots who you to say yes to everything they suggest.
Well if I do thing their way & things don't work people will die.
So I've been demoted for a yes man who makes more money than me & doesn't know a 1/4 of what I know about the job.
Wish I could just not care anymore but It bugs me that's why I came back here but it's not really the same either.
Hang in there Kissin!
Never Give Up!

There can't be anything worse than having to go to work if you're not happy there. I hope it improves soon.

I can understand that. Sometimes we just have to put in the hours, grin and bear it. As difficult as it might be sometimes.... I always looked at it, as if I helped one person... but then sometimes there are just too many to help... and you get lost in the sea of nothing changes.

Weigh your options and remember that if you think you are about to break, take a break and do something fun. You are a tough cookie and this too shall pass. Everything will work out as it should, have faith in that.

If all else fails, you know where I am. Sometimes venting is needed.
