 To us it means that you don't talk about LS activities when in public or refer to paymates in communications with others without consulting them prior. Even if the others are lifestylers. Also may have to do with public positions and/or employment. To us it has no inference to the negatives.

We also are poly but some of our families or long term friends would not understand because of their own sets of beliefs. So, we "limit" exposure" for their benefit, not ours.

Just an aside: Sure wish we were closer. You are our kind of peeps. Unfortunately most of the good ones are far away we have found.

 I don’t go out of my way to tell people about what I get up to or publicly implicate my partners, but I don’t mind talking about it. If someone asks I will fess up.

It is not about shame. It is just simpler for me to inform people on a need to know basis.

Maybe that’s discrete. I suppose that is one word for it.
