 My own comments show up, and you will see your own comments whilst you're logged in. After a while you will see a colour banner appear on your post, saying Post is Pending Review by Owner. This banner remains in place even after I have read your message or responded. Your post will also show up in "where I'm quoted" on your blog, with a link to my response.

 If you would like a private Postbox, why not create a similar post in your blog, as follows:

Secret message entry - create a blog post and select :;Pre-Review all comments before they show up; and then when messages come in, you never approve them for public display. This allows people to send you a message without using email.
