 That seems to be a little judgemental on their part. I’d say it’s totally up to the user to pick their name, real or not. There is an Alberta female member who is known for using multiple fake accounts though. But she’s very easy to spot.

 How to spot a fake: sends flirt, send friend request, one or two high resolution photos, weird verbiage in profile like seeking to find forever love, ones that IM you with weird timing ignoring the conversation and steering it to a can website. Etc. etc. etc. at least they are pretty easy to spot haha, oh yeah and the names are usually not a dead giveaway because everyone has all sorts of crazy different names on here. I think sometimes if they have like 17 numbers after their name that’s a giveaway

 One way to spot fake profiles is to run a Google Image Search on the profile pictures, see my blog post "Fake or Fraudulent profiles". It's amusing to find the real owners of the photos!

 I'll bet my wisdom teeth that most of those who haunt the chat rooms nowadays ARE scammers.

If *you* were a scammer, what better way to deter others away from your true identity of being one, than to say such a thing? Sometimes you have to think like a thief in order to catch one. Makes sense to me.
