Have a pre-arranged "out" signal. If one of you is feeling overwhelmed or frustrated or jealous, there's no shame in saying "y'know, I think I'm just not ready for this right at this moment."

Don't take one for the team. Well... really, don't ask your wife to take one for the team.

Don't make arrangements to meet for sex without meeting for "not" sex first.

Check out more swinger oriented sites like swinglifestyle or kassidy or adultplayground. They usually list events like meet and greets and parties where people can meet in a sexually charged atmosphere without any pressure to take things further at the moment. This is a great way to see if you're going to be a jealous spouse.

Maybe drinks and a card game or board game? Something fun would make a great ice breaker.

Communication between you both is a must! Before and after meeting another couple. Talk about what you liked and didn't like. Talk about expectations, condom v no condom, same room different rooms, hard limits. Express them to the couple before you get in the bedroom.

Make time to reconnect with each other on a passionate level after an encounter.

It's a learning curve. I hate too say it, but you learn as you go.
