I've finished 1927 by Bill Bryson and moved on to The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I've watched the series on Hulu and found it compelling. I ordinarily think that "the book is better than the movie" so I wanted to look at the original. I was surprised to learn that the book was written back in 1985. The series seems to have a contemporary slant to it.
