Fun with random fridge stuff!

So after having been away for a bit I decided I should share some of the goings on in food that I have had. Tried some stuffed chicken that was truly a hit, epic win if you will. I got home from a long day at the shop smearing bondo on cars and spraying epoxy primer and blah blah blah laquer thinner in cuts burns by the by, and lo and behold, no ideas on what to do for dinner. After a bit of rummaging in the fridge I found some cooked rice, cheddar cheese, green onions and 3 split chicken breasts( with rib meat) and some various other things. anyway I decided to play the role of mad scientist/ chicken dismemberer and ripped the ribs out of the meat and butterflied it open( all the while cackling madly and listening to Pink Floyd's Division Bell) I took the rice cheese and green onions( with a dash of salt pepper and sour cream) and mixed them up to make a sort of glompy mass. I stuffed the chicken with the rice/cheese mixture rolled up the chicken tits and then wrapped the little bundles of love in natures meat candy.... yes Bacon was involved! I then put the lovely bundles on a roasting rack in a pan in a 350 degree oven for about 35-45 minutes or at least until the internal temp was 165 amazingly enough the chicken didn't dry out ( thanks to the bacon. I love bacon.) The Roomies loved it, and it has been requested since then. success is what that is. A couple of days after that I had the pleasure of going to lunch at a newish burger joint here in Tallahassee.... Vertigo burgers. O...M...G... The burgers are epic win. The greek out is like a Gyro on a Bun. Perfectly cooked lamb, with fresh tomatoes, onions, kalamata olive, tsaziki, and feta. It was juicy, flavorful, and definitely worth going back for. the fries were fresh cut and cooked and fantastic, Plus they have beer! I will be returning... Maybe before the FSU vs. Savannah State game... any way Cheers and good beers to all!

So I found myself pondering what types of icing to do for some test cakes for a bride and her mother. Anyway i decided to give them 4 different options on the choice of 2 different types of cake. After making multiple layers of this exquisitely wonderful wedding cake ( dense enough to hold up to either fondant or heavy icing but airy and delicate enough to not sit like a doughy rock in the stomach)I started the adventure in making bride and mother and 2 bridesmaids happy. And oh how I wish I could make them happy in other ways. Ironically enough the first combo was the hit that I thought it would be but 7 more test cakes to go 3 more batches of icing. As we trounced through the sugary wonderland of cake and icing together, I started getting visions of these 4 ladies loveliness running through my head, and with scraps of the trimmed cake started making cake sculptures held together by icing and the tit treats and cock pops started to come into creation. Now, I didn't have enough to fully "erect" a working picture worthy piece, however the champagne was flowing and the oldest bridesmaid saw a portion of my creation. The waist to neck sculpture without icing was beginning to take form from her bikini clad body( we were getting ready to go out to the pool and i was just idly fiddling at this point.) At this point she looked at me conspiratorially and whispered in my ear asking me what I was doing. Being of not so sound mind, and, well, quite male in body, I told her exactly what i was doing. Her face matched her swimsuit and she giggled and skittered away. at this point the structure decided it was time to crumble( I need to add more icing to make it stable) piece by piece just sort of wasting away. Anyway after the cake tastings and a few bottles of champagne, they finally decided on a lightly white chocolate flavored wedding cake with seedless raspberry filling and a chambord cream cheese icing, slightly chilled, served with a Verdi Champagne, The bridesmaid came up to me and asked where the idea came from, and in front of everyone, hopefully with a straight face, "Why any man in his rightful mind would do the same thing, especially being surrounded with as much beauty as I am today" Well I can tell you making 4 wonderful and attractive ladies blush because I made a sculpture that looked like tits?? Hell yeah score one for the biggun' I will perfect my technique soon. Anyone want to model for the next sculpture of cake? Anyone want to be molded by the hands? I have seen a newer trend in cooking today, One of small confections on sticks. I am speaking particularly of cake pops. WHile i think this can be a nifty little gift idea, i was thinking why not go a step further, Cock Pops and Tit Treats!! the little balls of fondant covered cake are very conducive to construction of said articles... we must try this. We will try this and get back to you soon Cheers!
