SOMETIME A WOMAN NEEDS TO BE ALONE..

This is from something that recently happened.

I wake up, alone in the bed. A bed? Not last night. This was the playground for the "festival of pleasure", an "orgy of desire". That was last night! Amazing. fantastic, any description seems small and incomplete. Every position, every act we could perform. Orgasms? None counted. An orgasm would be a goal. We had none. They were just "mile markers" along our journey together. Each of us, pleasing ourselves with the power and control we have over the other. Partners and not partners. Time no longer existed. No hurry, rush or agenda. Using. Being used. All the raw demands of our cravings were explored. Pure, animal instincts driving everything we would do. Nothing forbidden. Nothing out of bounds.Just pleasure. This wasn't simply sex. Something different. Primal. We turned our inner beasts loose. Toys, restraints, nothing went unused. We explored our own depths until we had nothing left to give. Exhausted, our bodies. coated with sweat and bodily fluids. Yours, mine, mingling together. Almost all our energy has been used up. Just enough left to strip the "playing field" crumpled into a ball and tossed to the side. A fresh sheet laid over the bed. We collapsed into each other's arms and slept.

Not finding you still in bed, I softly call your name. No reply. I get up, pull on my boxers and start to look for you. I walk into the living room and see you. Wrapped in your robe, you're staring out the window. As I get closer, I recognize that "1000 mile stare". You are somewhere else, not here. Where or why? I have no idea. I walk up behind you and gently place my palm over yours. Slowly, almost instinctively, you intertwine your fingers with mine. Your gaze never shifting. I move closer behind and let my arm slip around your waist and gently pull you closer. The spell, temporally broken. You tip your head back and rest it on my shoulder. You turn your face to me. There is a different look in your eyes, one that I've never seen before. My concerns are eased when I see a smile start to emerge. It's a smile of... satisfaction...comfort. We stare into each other's eyes for what seemed like both an eternity, and just a moment, all at once. No words spoken. None are needed. I see your eyes drift back to the window and you lift your head. You move back to the position you were in when I found you. I release you and step back. If there is going to be a conversation, that will come later. Where are you? What is going on in your mind? Processing thoughts, feelings, emotions? You seem to need this time and I need to give it to you. I step back, go to the kitchen and start making coffee. Sometimes, a woman needs to be alone.
But it's important for her to know that she never needs to FEEL alone.
