We rely on members to let us know when posts contain content that violiate the
community guidelines. The most common reason that content gets flagged is that it contains dehumanizing or trolling/baiting text. Getting too many flagged posts will result in account termination.

Not listed... the compromise no one wanted to bother with. Marriage and civil union hold same legal rights, standing, privileges. If legally bound by a religious authority = marriage. If legally bound by civil authority = civil union.
Same with homosexual couples, a couple is a couple
Do not rub my nose in it.
I have no problem with lesbian and gay couples having a civil union, but heterosexual couples have the potential of creating children — something sorely needed in an economy based on constant expansion. Decreasing birth rates have stabbed tier one countries in the groin and whatever we can do to mitigate that is wise policy. So holding marriage as a special status for heterosexual couples is preferable.
